About Mr. Philip Meyer-Plate


Philip Meyer-Plate has been appointed Lufthansa’s new General Manager for Vietnam.


Meyer-Plate, born in 1975 in Cologne, has been educated in the U.S. and holds a degree in International Business. He joined Lufthansa as an intern for Lufthansa Marketing Northeastern USA in April 2001. Three months later he was appointed Marketing Manager and held this position until April 2004. Meyer-Plate then entered the airline’s Sales Management Program. After having successfully completed the training in April 2005, he took up a position as Regional Sales and Station Manager for the company’s Mid Volga Region of Russia. One year later he was also responsible for managing Lufthansa’s Regional Sales and Station department in the Republic of Bashkortostan.


In May 2008 Meyer-Plate was appointed Team Manager of Revenue Management Europe & Domestic based in Frankfurt. In Vietnam Philip Meyer-Plate is responsible for sales and operations of Lufthansa German Airlines. Meyer-Plate is married and father of two children.
